Challenge
The challenge arose from the modification of the microcontroller, necessitating the client to assimilate all the changes resulting from this porting process. This included the demanding tasks of configuring, validating, and auto code generation of numerous modules of the AUTOSAR Layers.
Solution
The automotive steering column serves as a crucial component designed to establish a connection between the steering wheel and the steering mechanism. Its main purpose is to facilitate the transmission of the driver’s rotational input from the steering wheel to the steering system. The steering column control module takes on the responsibility of managing the switches located either “on” the steering wheel itself or positioned “around” or “below” it. This module plays a pivotal role in controlling these switches, enhancing the driver’s interaction with the vehicle’s various functions.
The scope of the project involved the porting from Infineon’s – 100 pin microcontroller to 80 pin microcontroller. We started off with the in depth analysis of the existing configuration.
